New Avenues welcomes new Community Liaison/Recruiter and new Supported Living Coordinator

New Avenues is proud to announce Stella Elder as the new Community Liaison/Recruiter of Buckeye Industries, our Vocational Services Program. Funding for this position is through a two-year grant from the Cleveland Foundation.


Stella comes to Buckeye Industries with a wealth of experience and education. Stella’s last position was with New Avenues as a Habilitation Assistant in Day Services.  Prior to New Avenues, Stella worked at Vocational Guidance Service for twenty-six years where she served as manager of operations for an Adult Day Center and Director of Elderly Services. 

Responsibilities include coordinating, marketing and recruiting for Buckeye Industries in Cuyahoga, Lake and Ashtabula counties. Stella holds a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Administration from DePaul University, a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Dietetics from Ursuline College and an Associate’s degree in Science from Cuyahoga Community College. 

Meet & Greet Open Houses were held on June 17th, 18th and 19th at Buckeye Industries, Cleveland West, Eastlake and Madison locations to introduce Stella to our community. Each Open House featured a light lunch, along with a chance to win a fabulous door prize. Tours were also provided to attendees.

New Avenues is also pleased to announce Lynne Hamilton as the new Cuyahoga County Supported Living Coordinator/LPN. Lynne has nearly thirty years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Previously, she was the I.O. Waiver Nurse/Supervisor for eleven years at Northeast Care Center, worked as a house nurse and CPR/First Aid instructor at Phoenix Residential and has worked as a LPN charge nurse in nursing home settings.
