New Avenues selected for the Northeast Ohio Media Group's "Good News Giving" Program

New Avenues was selected as one of 20 non-profit agencies in Northeast Ohio to be a participant in the Good News Giving program sponsored by the Northeast Ohio Media Group – publisher of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, cleveland.com and the Sun News. New Avenues was selected through online voting by the public. The winners were divided into two tiers: the top tier of 20 agencies will receive free advertising, monetary contributions from the community, plus editorial exposure about the agency. The second tier of 30 agencies will receive the valuable free advertising component of the program.

New Avenues is fortunate to have been picked to be in the first tier with 19 other agencies. As a selected agency, New Avenues will receive not only the above-mentioned advertising, but also funding from donations made by the community through the Good News Giving campaign. This campaign began running Thanksgiving Day and will continue through the end of the year. The Good News Giving program is being promoted as well as the individual selected agencies, while encouraging readers to donate to the agency’s cause. Money collected will be divided evenly among the top 20 agencies and will be distributed in February, 2014.

“We are so grateful to the Northeast Ohio Media Group and the community for giving New Avenues the marketing vehicles to make the public aware of the services and programs we offer to individuals with disabilities in Northeast Ohio,” says Thomas Lewins, Executive Director of New Avenues. “ This will not only help to create awareness for the agency but also much needed funding not covered by Medicaid and other federal programs.”
