Ron Schussler, who participates in our Supported Living program and resides in Lake County, LOVES the Cleveland Browns.  He watches everything having to do with the Browns.  On July 31st, Ron and one of our staff members attended the Cleveland Browns training camp in Berea.  What a wonderful experience!  The handicap parking made it very accessible for Ron, and they got there early enough to get the perfect spot to sit. All other fans were very considerate of Ron.

When it came time for a bathroom break, the accommodations did not fit Ron’s specific needs so the head of security gladly escorted them inside.  On the way inside, Ron got a huge surprise!  They came up to a group of people and Ron stopped.  Mr. Doug Dieken!  Mr. Dieken, a sportscaster for the Browns, saw the excitement on Ron’s face, immediately stood up and came up to Ron to shake his hand and talk with him.  And if that wasn’t enough to make Ron’s night, on the way back the same thing happened with Mr. Jim Donovan!  Mr. Donovan, another sportscaster, also talked with Ron and shook his hand.  Ron was so excited that his eyes teared up. Ron and his staff were the only attendees who had the privilege to meet them.  WOW for Ron!

After practice ended, some of the players come to the side lines to sign autographs.  Ron managed to get the attention of #93 – John Hughes, who was signing autographs.  Mr. Hughes insisted on coming right to Ron to sign his shirt and pose for a picture.  Then a few minutes later, rookie #51 – Barkevious Mingo started to head off the field.  The crowd was going crazy yelling to him and Mr. Mingo zeroed right in on Ron!  Ron got the first autograph and the only picture with him!  What a night, and what wonderful group of men!  Ron could not have asked for a better evening!
