In collaboration with almost 20 organizations that serve people with disabilities, New Avenues participated on the Planning Committee to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The big day took place on July 22nd at Wade Oval. From morning through the afternoon, the grassy area behind the museums was filled with organizations celebrating, advocating and educating the general public about inclusion. There were food trucks, entertainment, speakers and lots of activities going on all day.

During the evening for the Wade Oval Wednesday festivities, Flame, a band whose talented members have disabilities, performed for the large crowd gathered on the lawn. It was a great day for all to “Celebrate, Lead and Engage.”
