Original art from extraordinary individuals
For over twenty years, New Avenues to Independence has made art expression a valuable core service to individuals with disabilities.
Art therapy is based on the belief that the creative process of art is both healing and life-enhancing. Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy, using drawing, painting, sculpture, photography and other forms of visual art materials to improve or maintain mental health and emotional well-being. Through the art process, New Avenues’ artists are able to have opportunities for social interaction, following directions, communications skills, task development, creative outlet and more.
Each piece of Ave. ART is original art created by individual and groups in art therapy sessions. All of the proceeds from the sale of the art go to the artists and to purchase art materials for the program.
