Home Project

New Avenues has established a fundraising strategy to improve our group homes and Transitional Respite program.  The purpose of The Home Project is to ensure that each of New Avenues' nine group homes, and the Transitional Respite Program, are "homes" for those we serve, rather than institutional settings.  The following strategic approach will assist New Avenues in achieving this goal.

Each of our group home managers, as well as the Respite Coordinator, have been asked to develop a wish list for their sites.  The purpose of the wish list is to identify what each site needs to make it a “home”.    Each board member will be assigned to a site (possibly more than one board member at some sites).  The board member, with the group home manager and select staff, will take a tour of the group home they are assigned to.  Each Home Committee will develop a “home” plan for their site.

Development staff will work with each Home Committee to identify businesses and corporations around each site with the potential to provide financial and volunteer support to the “home” plans.
