Broadmoor Volunteer Opportunities


A clown visits with a Broadmoor Summer Program participants during the annual carnival.

  • Directly accountable to the Class Instructor and the Program Director.

  • Assists students and carries out activities only under the direction of the Class Instructor or Program Director.  Duties may include assisting with special events, daily activities such games or crafts, relaying messages, or other general assistance.  Volunteers are not left alone with the children, nor do they assist with toileting.

  • In an emergency, follows the directions of the person in charge.

  • If students exhibit challenging behaviors, volunteers will not perform intervention techniques.

  • Signs in and out, completes necessary forms.

  • Notifies Program Director if unable to come at scheduled time.

  • Promotes an atmosphere of fun and respect for all students, families, and staff.

WORKING CONDITIONS:  May be exposed to challenging behaviors which may cause injury.  May be exposed to contagious diseases.
